There are different commitment periods at Three. These are generally between 12 and 24 months. We therefore advise you to first check your commitment period by consulting your contract and particularly the GTC (general terms and conditions of sale).
To avoid paying early termination fees, it is therefore ideal to go to the end of your commitment period.
Three does not provide for a notice period for termination. Therefore, after receiving your letter of cancellation, Three customer services will promptly process your request and close your contract as soon as possible, or on the date you have indicated in your letter.
As most Three plans have a commitment period, you may have to pay a fee if you terminate your contract early. This fee is the full amount of the remaining monthly instalments to be paid until the end of your contract period.
For example, if you have a 12-month contract, but have already completed 10 months, you only have to pay for 2 months. This means that the cancellation fee is the amount of your monthly subscription multiplied by about 2 (it may indeed be less because Three deducts certain fees).
Yes, you have a cooling-off period if you take out a contract with this operator. This period is 30 days. During this period, you can terminate your contract at any time and at no cost. To withdraw from your contract within this 30-day period, all you have to do is send a letter of cancellation to Three's customer service department.
It is entirely possible to keep your telephone number when you leave Three.
Accessing your Porting Authorisation Code (PAC) allows you to switch your number to another operator. You can request this number by contacting Three's customer service department directly. You then need to give your PAC to your new operator and they will take care of the line retention process.
Please note, however, that your PAC is only available to you for a few days. Once this period has passed, if your new operator has not made the changes, your line will remain in service with Three.
When you cancel your Internet subscription with Three, you must return all the equipment provided by the operator when you signed up. 5G Home Broadband customers must therefore return all the equipment provided to you. You have a certain period of time in which to do this, and you must respect this period to avoid any penalties from Three. Please also note that if the equipment is returned in poor condition or missing any of the items, Three will charge you an additional fee.
After a termination, Three will send you your final invoice. The following items will appear on this document:
- the costs of your last month's subscription.
- any user fees that may be incurred until your subscription is fully completed.
Note that as long as the charges for your last bill are not deducted, you do not have to cancel your direct debits with your bank.
And if your Three account is in credit, the amount due will normally be refunded to you within one month of Three acknowledging your termination letter.
Even if your Three cancellation letter is already in the process of being sent, you have the option of reversing your decision. Contact Three customer service quickly to cancel your request.
This can only be done by the contract holder.
If you do not want to keep the same telephone number when you leave Three for another telephone operator, you need your STAC (Service Termination Authorization Code). Three will provide this to you free of charge on request.
